password to short problem for users

When a user creates an account, he recieve a password by mail. If the user log in and he wants to change his password, it does not work. There comes the message: password is too short. Even if you make a password of 10 characters or more, capital letter, strange characters it does not matter, he keeps giving the message, password too short. If the user log in  admin menu, than the user can change his password very wel, not through the front of the site. I have also tried several templates but give all the same results. also with a website of another friend of mine gives the same problems. someone an idea where this is?

But i have the same problem. And i am also looking for a working solution.

Oke, its works.
But, update the inialize.php give's a http 500 error on all the pages.
So i have upload all the file, but only the inialize.php , test it and seems to be work fine.

Oh, sorry, the fix was for 2.12.
Was right to let the initialize.php away.

This works now great, Thanks for this fix.

I only have another 2 problems.
When a new member does registrate. It does get send a mail with a password.

But the username is shown as xxxxxx

The other problem what i have is that when i want to use the account/forgot.php i fill in the email adres and press send. Then i first get a 404 error not found page. And i also dont get an email with my currunt password.

Could you also help me with this problem?

Not username and password together in the mail.
We think the user can remember his user name.

In 2.12 is no problem with that. Why you don't upgrade?

Cause i thought 2.12 is still a beta. I dont know jet if it is stable enough.
And i dont have a clue how i can upgrade.

And now i get even another new problem what i didnt have before.

When i now sign in as a new member, i dont even recieve the email anymore with the password.
What is all going on, it does look like i am getting crazy

It does make the account, but doesnt send an email.

Can you reset to the status where was only the password problem?
After that, take only the account/password.php from the fix to fix this one problem.
