Payment Gateway Integration
« on: March 21, 2018, 12:43:40 AM »
The Bakery Shop works very well. However I am only using the cart and then invoicing my customers, who then mostly pay by direct deposit. I now wish to move to giving my customers the option of paying by credit card. There are appears to be limited payment gateways integrated with Bakery. I am certain given time I might modify an existing one to handle my gateway of choice but time is in short supply.

The payment gateway I am interested in using is "e-Path" - http://www.e-path.com.au/integration.html

The e-Path Website contains a lot of helpful information including a facility to do test payments. It appears that in many situations e-Path would work out to be very much cheaper than PayPal and others. Apart from a small setup fee, you pay a single yearly fee only.

Some questions:
Has anyone had any experience with such gateways, or even this one in particular?
Is there an existing Bakery payment method to cover this type of gateway?
If I were to try to modify an existing payment method, where would I start?

Any assistance would be appreciated and of course may help/inspire others.

Bakery need to be signalled by the payement gateway about the status of payment. If not, it will not process the order any further.
As far as the information goes on their website this does not happen. You will have to authorize the payment manually, but at that time the shoppingcart in Bakery will be lost and there will be no way to tell what was ordered and to what address is should be sent.

Our system is manual, it is not designed to replace 'real time' automated online processing systems. If you want an automated system then e-Path is not the answer.

Thank you Ruud! I somehow missed the sentence you quote. Perhaps this is why I couldn't see how it could be done - apart from being a novice too! Thanks again.
