I've still got a couple of things to get working (the on-state for the home link in the top nav doesn't work yet, and the search engine isn't working in Internet Explorer for some reason). And I'm linking at pictures with the idea of putting a photo underneath the right column nav. But otherwise it's pretty much ready to turn over to the client. (Some $$ for WB as soon as I get paid!)

nice stuff ... I like the idea of "not closing" the design to the right ...

the design of the navbar needs some tweaking though, it seems to be too tight together for the hoover. There is some options over at css.maxdesign.com.au in the listsection, one of them also had a link to some changing css background images ... have a look

I know what you mean about "tight." I should probably put some bottom margins on the li's.

I'm familiar enough with doing CSS bg images - I've done them many times. But I don't really want that here.

I tweaked that. Gave it a block display on the links too. Trying to decide if I should add borders or leave well enough alone....

Just a note that the client gave this the thumbs-up today, so I'm all done. Not award-winning, but I think it turned out pretty well.

Very, very nice. I love your use of color, and like Klaus, I think it's a good touch to not round off the corners on the right edge of your page.

I would strongly recommend breaking the About Us page into several sub-pages and putting the essay on one of them. As a former seminary student, I understand that it's the kind of things that ministers, and only ministers, love. For the rest of us it should buried a layer deeper.  It's just overwhelming where it is.

Well, I tend to agree somewhat, but it's not my site. That sort of thing has really nothing to do with me; I provided a general direction and gave the client a head start. After that, site structure and content is completely in the client's hands.

Glad to hear. I'm slowly learning how to think outside the box without breaking the rules of design. Hopefully, I'll get there.

Well, it's a bit hard to say, since I've gone to this system fairly recently. My biggest motivation wasn't actually spam, but to prevent bots from doing injections, which is a bigger security risk.

At any rate, my newer email addresses don't seem to be getting as much spam, if any, but that may be simply because they haven't been "out there" as long. We'll see.
