Bungy trampoline site in the making
« on: January 18, 2006, 04:42:39 PM »
I made this site starfishpromo.com for my girl friend who runs a bungy trampoline in the summer months. The bungy movie was made at the Daily Telegraph Ski Show whilst I was still a walker, since then I broke my back in five places and have been left paralysed from the waist down so jumping is no longer a choice, instead I have been given the job of web master. By the way I broke my back in a traffic accident not on the bungy :-D.
The template is an adaption of the AllCSS template and I have tried my best to get the website to validate to W3C a few tweaks were needed here and there but it seems to be validating so far.
I will be using website baker for some more projects in  the future and will post them here when they are ready. The next sites will be made using my own templates and should be elastic and optimized for search engine ranking.
Cheers Kingskin

rrright Kingskin ... not bad at all ... but have thought about putting the menu horizontally, it might fit the page better ...

As alternative I think with a "clear: left" in the CSS of the main div you might clear the "column" below the navigation ... guessed it? That's the part I would try to do a different way ...

but, looks good ... based in Italy?

cheers

Hi kweitzel, I thought about putting the menu horizontally but decided to stick with the vertical layout...

cheers

Klaus

Hi kweitzel, I thought about the horizontal menu but decided against it but you were right about the area below the menu it had to be cleared so thats what I did, see what you think now, feedback is always appreciated, THANKS
and the answer to the last Q is no I come from the green green land of Holland. Cheers Matt

clearly the way to go!

also, maybe go for a liquid layout with 5 width instead of a fixed width ... I can undestand, why you went for the 750px (800 by 600 base) but a 90% could look nice as well ...

check the floatutorial here: http://css.maxdesign.com.au/

cheers

Throwing a full length column behind the navigation would make the design look more balanced. Faux columns are easy with a background image.
