Heard a lot about WebsiteBaker but have a few questions

1.  Is the code it generates XHTML compliant?  If not how difficult would it be to design a site using WB and get the code to validate to W3C?

2.  Is there some kind of comment script module?  For example, if I write an article or something and want to allow people to add their own comments about it?

3.  How difficult is is to use your own PHP scripts with WB?  Example being if I have already wrote my own email processing script, how difficult is it to integrate with WB?  I've used other CMS's that this couldnt where this couldn't be done and others where you had to literally jump through a thousand hoops to try and get something simple like this to work.

I think that is all my questions for now.  I'm just looking for a basic CMS for a small to medium size site where I can easily update it and allow user comments (kinda like a blog but not really)

The template can be made yourself, so you can make your whole page XHTML compliant. Look for more information about this in the template forum.

You can use the news module. This has the option to make comment for posts, etc.

You can  work with the code module. This allows you to create PHP script within your page. Furthermore you can also create a module if you have special needs. It's very easy. I have created a few and I am not a PHP developer....

Yeah I tried that and it seemed like it was a "lite" version.  I was really wanting to play around with the code and template system to try and see if the xhtml would be a problem and I couldn't find anything to edit the template...maybe I overlooked it, maybe it just wasn't there? 

I guess it doesn't matter much now as you've already told me that xhtml will work fine.

Hi deronsizemore,

the installation of WB on opencms.com is the basic installation, without any modules. Then you can decide what modules you want to have installed (see examples in the Mudules section of this forum).

The Template editing / creation is actually beeing done offline (I do it just with my Texteditor). But a good tutorial is here: http://www.hackvoid.com/template_tut.htm giving you a good overview of the whole template creation process ...

Most of the modules have as standart output a table design, but also give you the option to customise the output, so it would be easy to change the outpu to whatever you need.

That and the ease of use, even for CMS beginners like me, was the reason I have choosen to bake my sites ...
