including existing pages
« on: December 19, 2005, 11:12:26 AM »
Hello

Is it possible to include an already existing page into another page?

For example: I have a separate page for news, but I would like to show the news also on my home page in adition to other information.

Do I understand this correct: You would like to display a WB-page outside of WB?

Nonono.

I have made pages with WB:
Home
Info
Blabla
Coming events

Now I would like to include the "Coming events" page also into "Home" page.
I made a new code section into "Home", but I haven't figured out how to include "Coming events".
Is it possible at all?

If I understand what you want, try using the 'wrapper' option when creating a new page.

No that's not it.

I want to include the page, that I have made with WB.

For example I can't include http://www.server.com/pages/coming-events.php
I just want to include the content of that page.

Ahh.. Well I don't know how you would do that.  Sorry.

Is this siple thing (including content of one WB page into another WB page) really impossible?
In that case I have to start looking for another cms.  :-(

Well, there is a snippet for including news items form the new module on aother pages. I'm no coder, but maybe you can modify it for use for other content as well. And of course you can also include any internal page in a wrapper.

Hi matu

I just noticed this thread and realise this may be a little late for you.

I think Reply #10 on: April 15, 2005, 07:44:00 pm

in http://forum.WebsiteBaker.org/index.php/topic,707.msg4356.html#msg4356 might be what you are looking for. It works fine for me for including content of one page in another.
