multifex-3 get rid of extra blocks
« on: January 17, 2010, 09:06:20 PM »
Hi - im lookin to use WB for clients and kinda new and using the multifex-3 temlplate.

I created a page called Home and created blocks to the right using info.php / index.php editing. I used the blue border / green border blocks
Everthing looks nice on Home Page.
However the other pages are keeping the right blocks  caled "blue border" "green border" with no info in it .

I would like to jus have the right blocks on the home page and other pages  - no right border.

I am stumped  - -any remedies

2 Possibilities:

1) make 2 templates and assign them the way you need them ...

2) write some code in the template which checks for the page_id variable and let this code show the boxes only on the pages you need them to show at ...

cheers

i like option 1 - i.e create a 2nd template.

Would u happen to know how to create a 2nd template from multflex -3.zip

Maybe calling it multiflex-3(2)

UNzip it, rename it, change the code, change the name and folder in info.php zip it again and install it.

thanks

i got it to work so 1 template has right cloumns and 2 nd template has none.

I find though that adding content to a right column and adding entries into info.php / index.php is a little weird.

other CMS make adding stuff in columns alot easier .
however WB is alot better in adding normal content etc.
