Nice site! Two remarks though:
1. I'm not sure about the dark gray content background. Why not make it black as well?
2. put this line in your CSS to make the images look better in IE: img {-ms-interpolation-mode: bicubic;}

Regarding the content backgroundcolor; personally I think those colors combines the best atmosphere for the whole site.
