Just can't wait to show ya...
« on: August 22, 2005, 01:20:56 PM »
Hi guys,

Just couldn't wait to show ya this one...
http://www.mec.vic.edu.au/

I haven't 100% finished the template - there is still one or two small problems (mainly in IE).
Also, the logo I designed (top-right) still needs a little touching-up.
Note that the content isn't done by me - my old IT teacher maintains it.

Oh, before I forget - the site is for (obviously) the Maroondah Education Coalition.
Basically, the coalition was formed to help the 4 local high schools (my school is Ringwood) to work together and share resources and communicate better

Nothing wrong in IE, all seems to work, nothing odd to see

Nice looking site.

I see you love round corners, did you ever had a look at this -> NiftyCorners
http://pro.html.it/articoli/id_599/idcat_31/pro.html
and here an example : http://pro.html.it/esempio/nifty2/nifty10js.html

Roundcorners, no images, javascript based.

@pcwacht: there are problems with the background-images (i.e. rounded corners) not displaying at all on IE for Macs
About NiftyCorners - I have seen many different methods of doing rounded corners, and believe images are best (although more bandwidth is used, it allows for rounded corners on more browsers - even for ones with javascript disabled for security reasons).

Very nice! Stylish design, good site! Some pages have misaligned footers (in IE6), but I guess you know that.

ryan: i recently tried stu nicholls "snazzy borders".
they need a bit more markup (unsemantic ) but render fine as long as the rest css renders.
(and they work even on IE 5.x on Win and Mac)

http://www.cssplay.co.uk/boxes/snazzy.html

and heres a menu example

http://www.cssplay.co.uk/boxes/snazzy.html

it works very good on tabbed menues (thats where i used them)

oh, and btw.: very nice site! ;)

I am not interested in snazzy - and I don't see why you would think I would be after my reply to pcwacht
@pcwacht:
I have solved my IE on Mac problem - in my CSS file I had the background-image value in comma's (e.g background-image: url('some-image.jpg'); - I just changed this to: background-image: url(some-image.jpg); and now it works fine). 8-)

Lol I guess I am at that stage in every teens life where we get moody
Also, it doesn't help having extreme pressures from school atm - I should be right when I get holidays again
