New site for another hotel
« on: February 17, 2009, 05:31:37 PM »
I've just finished the new site for The Gibbon Bridge Hotel. The brief was to design a site that would be easy to use for all age groups, attract a slightly younger audience without putting off the existing older guests. We also wanted it to be more than just an online brochure but use it more as an active marketing tool, pushing people to take action by the use of the footer with what we call 'action links'.

Anyway, see what you think - looking forward to your feedback!

Well, I'm sure you have a satisfied customer. I think you managed to bring the briefing to life.

Chapeau.

Very nice looking site, only thing i see in Firefox3 is that the Flash application is on top of the footer, the other content isnt.

Hi,

On this page there is a link to "For more photos from the Gibbon Bridge, please click here". This link gives an error.

But, I like the site. And the Gibbon Bridge Hotel is also nice. I like to visit it :D

Grtz,

Beautiful design! But the flash part hangs over the footer, which is a pity. On my 1024 resolution screen I don't see the text on the homepage when first opening the site. You have to notice the scroll bar to see that there is actually text under the image.

You can win space by placing the logo in the left column, and bringing the flash pic up to the top. If you make it a bit less high I think the overal design and usability would benefit.

But nevertheless a beautiful site.

It has a very relaxing feel to it, not cluttered, just everything in its place. Much like how you want to present the hotel I imagine. One thing that I noticed though is that the final two center images look great individually, but don't really match each other. The slideshow looks great, but when it ends, the image with the shrimp dish seems to clash slightly with the outdoor scene. Maybe switch that outdoor scene with the wine glasses that come before it?

You're right! I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I think it needs a little more work. Thanks for the suggestion,

Sure thing, it's probably not too hard to change that last image. And again, that slide show looks great. Good luck with the final tweaks.

Thanks for the compliment. Online booking isn't a wb mod though - it's just a form that ties in with the client's existing booking engine.

I like it! Although I am really against flash, it looks simple but beautiful.

Nice work.
