Viele haben mit der Einführung von HTML5 schon auf Alternativen umgestellt und noch mehr haben Verdacht geäußert, das es wohl so kommen mag, allein die offizielle Bestätigung fehlte noch. Nun ist es raus: Adobe stellt die Entwicklung des Flash-Players zum Ende 2020 ein. Damit gibt es auch keine Updates mehr. Zeit genug für alle Nutzer, ihre Angebote auf andere Standards umzustellen.

Adobe is planning to end-of-life Flash. Specifically, they will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats. See here for detailed informations
