Links on WebsiteBaker.org broken/dead
« on: July 14, 2015, 04:56:46 PM »
Hi everyone!

Just out of curiosity, has anyone noticed that most of the links on http://WebsiteBaker.org/ are either broken or dead?

"News" leads to an empty page.
"Addons / Modules" is kind of there, all links on that page result in broken websites.
"Addons / Templates" also leads to an empty page.
"Help" is empty as well.
"Organisation" is the only site that works.

"Downloads" redirects to the wiki so you actually think you have left the WebsiteBaker-website.

Right now there is no way of downloading modules, snippets or templates from the WebsiteBaker-website.

I mean, I know I'm not helping in stating this, but from the appearances alone it looks as if the website has been hacked or severly compromised.
And with the people at BlackCat CMS (which was based on WebsiteBaker) stating they had a severe security flaw, I was fearing something like that was present with WebsiteBaker as well. :-o

Is everyone ok?

Best regards,
VSG

The core team is relaunching the whole web-presence at the moment. In principle this was planned anyway, but yes, they had to take the server down due to a threat which came in through the *old* forum software, which has been replaced in the meantime. The relaunch was not fully prepared at that time, but it didn't make much sense to invest a lot of work to clean up the old installation if a new one is planned anyway. However, I must admit, there is a lot of room for improvement in dealing with this issue. On the other hand they are working hard on getting the release ready and resources are limited...

Ok, thanks for the info! (Y)

Since this has been for quite some time now and there was no explanation to be found anywhere on the website, I was actually worried.
I hope to see the new site soon!

Best regards,

But don't wondering.. the new site is much smaller then the old one.
A lot of things is 'outsorced'.. like 'help' => wiki, addons => addon.WebsiteBaker .org, templates => template.WebsiteBak er.org
and so on.
The Homepage is more like an information about WebsiteBaker. Not to much details. No more the old, deep structure. But it will you show, where to find all you need.
It was too much content on the old page and from this hard to maintain.

Can you also redirect old forum links from WebsiteBaker.org/forum/index.php?*** to forum.WebsiteBaker. org/index.php?***
