New Art Website (German)
« on: September 15, 2008, 12:00:47 PM »
Hello!

Although I have retired from the active WB community, I still work with WB, and that won't stop.

I made a new German Website here (it took several months, mostly because of a not very clear statement how it really should look and be like of the person that owns the website...)

http://www.deutschemaler.de/
(And about 25 others, the owner thinks it has some advantage to have so much domains, I think it has absolutely no advantage, but well...)

It works with WB 2.7, without any modules (besides a hidden Lightbox2 for the thumbs).
I know it is not made very professional, because every page is one of it's own, also the "pop-ups", so there are about 90 different pages, but in fact I don't know yet who to do it better).

It should validate CSS2.1/XHTML 1.0 Transitional, but most pages should be optimized, because I worked with tables in FCK (I know, designers don't like them, but it's ... quick and dirty and it looks at least a bit clean on the screen.)

Regards Michael

Are you yourself also an artist?
I see a kind of passion on this project

Hello!

Thanks Stefek. Well, I myself do not really have a passion (to be honest) for the paintings but of course the neighbour who wants to "push" franconian artists, due they are not very known in public and the art market, but don't lack quality... He has many contacts right now to many artists and collectors, most because of eBay, auctions and hearsay, and now wants to give his informations and passion to other people (besides of course, selling some paitings  ). But I know quite all the paintings in reality - they all were photographed by hand, so every single picture on the page is not just digitally copied from somewhere.
But my personal skill in painting can beat a three year old child.

It's very often that case.
Many Artists around here where I'm living (Worpswede near by Bremen).
I myself love paintings but don't paint for myself (the only reason is lag of time). But my girlfriend sometimes does.

So for that reason I know how important that is for them to have some connections - for they are mostly interested in creation, not so much in public relations  :-D

But once I have seen a page of yours with poems (?).
So I see some passion for Arts anyway.
Or do you have another "justification" for this one  8-)

 :-)
Best Regards,
Stefek

Hi Michael,

nice and impressive website!
The only thing i would prefer, is a "max-width" in the css after having a look with 1280px here.

Best regards!
