« on: September 16, 2007, 09:45:28 AM »
Hello!

To avoid plenty of new threads like "there is a spelling error", "that isn't right", "thank you" or "the achors don't work with my browser" concerning the new documentation here, please take this thread to discuss everything that concerns the new docu. Thank you.

Regards Michael

PS: Please only post questions / thanks / suggestions here in English. The German thread you can find here.

« Reply #5 on: December 19, 2007, 01:01:03 AM »
Hello,

Eki has finished the Dutch translation of the WB Help website portal.

On behalf of the Documentation team and the whole WebsiteBaker community, I would like to thank Erik for his fantastic work. He was able to translate all the stuff within 1.5 month including screenshots and without any other help.

Regards
The Docu Team

Cool stuff, like that list of features, gonna have to try it out ASAP!
I assume you're talking about the text on http://start.websitebaker2.org/en/wb-2.7-rc1.html will be copied to the new pages, so I saw a few minor typos, here's the lines to search for:[/i]

Please check if you can overwritte overwrite the files in the folder

Step 3: Adjust styles of news und form modules

Output filter: This new admin module allows to rewrite mail addresses before beeing displayed (e.g.

CSS, Javascript support: All preinstalled modules do now use frontend/backend CSS/Javascript files.

Language Support: Possibility Ability to choose the backend language during installation process

["possibility" means it MAY be possible but there is doubt.  "Ability" means you CAN do it if you want. ]

I like the colour-code formatting of Codepress, but it is dangerous - I almost always have this result: I use Ctrl-F to find the code I want... and then, as soon as I touch a key, it deletes all of the code in the file!
Well, enough for now

I came across the following post on the forum's culture and wanted to raise this as a concern. I truly appreciate the work that has gone into WB however what makes WB great is its support and it's extensibility hence I was surprised by the comment "We will no longer support or answer non WebsiteBaker related questions like issues with CSS, HTML, Server configuration settings, MySQL, Javascript"

I think all these questions go hand in hand with using WB. I primarily work on Windows and would be willing to write tutorials where I can. I hope everyone will reconsider the statement above.

Thanks

Hello,

Quote
I think all these questions go hand in hand with using WB.

As long as they have to do special with WB (f.e. Database connection issues wich are caused from WB scripts) we give support, but we cannot support for how to configure MySQL or a MySQL server. Same with css. How to change a color has nothing to do with WB, this is basically pure css, so this we do definetely not support, but how to integrate css in a head of a template by using the WB functions this will be supported.

All Tutorials about WB are very welcomed. But for tutorial about basic CSS or HTML this here is the wrong place. There exists a lot and much more better tutorials in the web.
