own modules - migrating from 2.8.3 to 2.13
« on: March 17, 2021, 02:51:14 PM »
Hello.
I've made a lot of WB (v. 2.8.3) modules for my own use. Some of them are made from 'Hello World', other from diff. modules (my_news from News etc.).
As far I know, there are a lot of core changes with new WB 2.13 and - corresponding to them - way to make modules.

After migrating 2.8.3->2.13 there are some errors,
for example:
Code: [Select]
There was an uncatched exception
malformed document created
in line (67) of (/modules/output_filter/Filters/filterCssToHead.php):
I pressume will be more..

My question is: is there a list of changes to review all old modules?
I don't see new "Hello world" module in add-ons Repository, so I don't have a pattern to work on..

Hi, i think there is no list.
But you can do a forum search with your error messages like "malformed document created".
Seems this happens if this filter finds no <head></head>

so far i know
- $database = new database(); // can be deleted or commented
- double indexes like $TEXT['WORD1']['WORD2'];  // new: $TEXT['WORD1_WORD2'];

Like dbs already wrote. Normally happend with not well integrated simplepagehead. Have a look in your Template
Code: [Select]
<head>
...
</head>
<body>

and in the package there is a DOCU Folder with a CHANGELOG File

Note: Once the code has been generated, it is easy to debug. It's not a bug, it's a feature!
