Hi,

here is my first feedback:
  • The space between div#edit_pages_head and div.section-info is to big. Reduce the margin-bottom of div#edit_pages_head please. See the screensot as example (Firefox 36)

Is there any Git repository? I want to help to create a modern backend theme which my customers and myself will love...

UPDATE!

I asked the question why it was not possible to 'tab' through the fields in the new admin. This was because of the jquery styled fields.

After that you came up with a small hack and I can confrm that this works!

Quote
If you add 'tabindex="-1"' to the element you should only use one tab-button to jump to the next field.
But note: included to the theme is is the jq min-file. So you have to add it there. Just search the needle 'readonly'.

Thank you!

Attachments: edited files. Just replace and upload.

(replace them in /jquery_added/plugins/jqueryNiceFileInput/)

>>> New modern Backend based on actual Admin-Panel-Structure realised in a modern Flat-Design-Look

>>> New Feature: Dashboard which shows some (technical) project information.

great, i will work on the submission notification on the Dashboard, can you tell me what kind of flat icons are u using?
selfmade or issued from a collection?
i need some icon to make improvements :
-one big icon to illustrate "last submissions" (in fact it can be a message icon like a mail icon).

my goal is to include all the "unread" submissions on the dashboard.

Where can i download the final/stable Version of this template? I'm thinking about changing the Argos Theme with this one or is there a new Argos Theme for WB 283 SP3?

Nice idea...

But if there is no news, that part should be not visible.  :-)

Now I have 0 pages, last updated 01-01-1970.
Clicking the "news" block crashes the backend because a modify.php is called with an empty page_id parameter.

First official Release

As I have been very busy I had to pause all my activities in webdevelopment. Now over Easter I finished the theme. The Final version is attached to this post.

Following things has changed:

>>>
Installation folder changed according to the hints from wb development team (no understrike, - thx for engagement) HEADS UP: BECAUSE OF THE NEW FOLDER THE THEME HAS TO INSTALLED COMPLETELY NEW !!!

>>>
Changed code of dashboard and informationcenter to load wb system according to hints from wb development team (thx for engagement) HEADS UP: IF YOU DID YOUR ON CONTENT FOR INFORMATIONCENTER OR DASHBOARD YET PLEASE CHECK IT OUT.

>>>
Added mulitlingual management for Dashboard and WB Information Center based on theme language files according to hints of wb development team (thx for engagement)

>>>
Made input fields on page change page-setting larger

>>>
Show message boxes on the front of the webpage

>>>
Change with tab key between file upload buttons (i.e. on page media) now works with one instead of two key strokes (thx Boudi for adaptions)

>>>
File upload buttons has focus style now (done in JQ, - I figured it out :-) )

>>>
Spaces on page 'edit page' are smaller and content start higher on all pages (THX FOR THE FEEDBACK TO THIS POINT. TO FIND A GOOD SOLUTION AS COMPROMISE BETWEEN DESIGN AND USABILITY IS REALY NOT EASY AT ALL. PLEASE CHECK IT OUT. I HOPE THIS IS BETTER NOW!)

>>>
Additionaly low screen switch installed (on screens with a total screen height of less than 1.020px the header is smaller). If you want to check this out you can change the value for the screen height of the media query in file 'theme.css' (section '::grid-media-queries-low-screen-switch::' for '@media (max-device-height: 1019px’, --> around line 512)

General notes:

The actual Version is
V 0.3.2

Thx to all the Support and Feedback.
If there is no further feedback on further errors this will be the first final version and I will ask Ruud if the theme can be offered in the wb add-on repository for download.

Please be aware: still up to now this is a private (free to use) project and not an official wb theme.

Very very nice...
Slowly this is becoming my favourite :)

The only thing...
You should put your own version number in the "Admin version" line.
Now it show the hardcoded versionnumber from the Argos theme.

Hi there,

I love your admin theme!
Looks very professional and modern.
I noticed that the login form isn't centered but located on the left.
How about a shrinking header?

What I am missing is bigger input field, dropdown menu's and buttons.
And maybe different colors for the buttons.
A long time ago I started Bootstrapping the admin theme but I gave up.

greetings,

William

Hi William,

thx for your feedback.

Yes, the login-form is not centered and has an assynchron design ... hope the styling is better this way. But the header indeed is shrinking. Just have a closer look.

I am not quite sure what do you mean with bigger input field, dropdown menu' and buttons? They are still a lot larger than in the templates up to now. But I respect the Feedback to it more larger ... only ... a lot of the feedback here and in the german forum was not to become tooo large ... ;-)

Indeed: Bootstraping the admin theme must be a big struggle.
A lot of the html and css is hardcoded ... and comes from the very first days of this CMS.

Of course a bootstrap compatible output would help.
But to be honest: I don't work with bootstrap myself.

greetings,
Yetiie

Hi Yetiie,

With an input field I mean for instance the field where you put in the page name.
I work a lot with Bootstrap again lately and these fields and buttons are bigger.
On WB they look 'old'.

With shrink header I mean this:
Code: [Select]

As promised ou will find attached the updated stable version for the backend theme:

Advanced Theme WB Flat
Version: 0.3.3

The last two updates has been:
- really template version now is shown on click on the link (feedback from Ruud)
- improvement of css for news in WB Information Center

(As discussed with Ruud he will take this version and present it in the official wb download area. So up from now it can be taken directly from there.)

Thx for all the feedback and support so far :-)
Further improvements, discussions, feebacks, suggestions are welcome to this thread!

@macsmet

ok, now I got it.
Good Idea. Especially place is what a lot off users asked for  ;-)
I will note and check this for later versions.

@all:
The suggested JQ has an MIT Lizens.
Does anyone knew if this is compatible with the WB Lisenz?

Hi Yetie,

I've installed your admin theme since a few hours on one WB-installation...looks cool and fresh. I'll change it on my other installations (for sure) too. Really great. Thanks for this new theme.

Hi,

Thank you for all your time, work and effort. I already used your template as the new standard template in dozens of websites. Clients are very impressed by the handling, speed and easyness.

Did made some custom changes though: Changed the Information Center with our own Twitterline, webmail, email and support link (and the fontawesome icons too). In the footer I placed an online chat function for our clients too.

In all... great template and perfect for WB and our customers. ThnQ.

Hi Boudi,

thx for very nice feedback.
And great idea.

Question: Would you like to share your code of the chat function to the community?

We could do an example with an little how to.
And if it isn't as complex maybe we could ad as optional function to the theme?

I think: this and similar (easy to add) functions could make WB more attractive to use for professional developers/agencys in a commerzial context ...

Yetiie :-)

No problem.

I use Livezilla for this: http://www.livezilla.net/home/en/
This program is free for 1 administrator.

You need to install it on your pc (you need to have access to your server tot create a MySQL db and ftp).

After install go to templates/footer.htt and put the tracking code directly above the closing </body> tag. (the tracking code will be created during installation)

The entire procedure (install and setup) is someting you need to know what you are doing but just take the time for it and follow all steps accurately and you will be rewarded. :)

I use it now for several clients and yes some of them are using it.

See att. for screenshots.

Hi,

I like the new theme very much.

Unfortunately, I've found three little bugs.
1) When maximizing a code section, the toolbar of the code section disappears, so it is neither possible to minimize it, nor to save any changes in it, it seems to disappear "behind" the theme

2) when updating from 0.3.2 to 0.3.3, the 0.3.3 does not replace the former version, but is installed parallel. (Or is this wanted?)

3) In the german version, in the information center top right there is missing the "d" in "Handbücher"

I would appreciate if the top line would become smaller as macsmet already mentioned.

Please don't get me wrong: These are no orders, just suggestions.

BR
-Florian.

Hi,

i also have a little suggestion for WB Information Center in your Admin-Theme. Language is set to german.
The word Manuals should be changed into Add-Ons in WB Information Center.

Maybe it is possible to show installed version of Modules in overview-page of Admin-Tools?
So you didn't have to go the "long way" to Add-Ons - Modules - Module-Details - View Details.

Only suggestion(-s) too.

Kind regards.
