Post by: aisling on April 09, 2008, 02:24:03 PM
Hi, I just updated my first site using WebsiteBaker and loved how easy it was and hope it cannot be hacked like my last site - still waiting to get back on a good rating from Google with that.
What do you think??

In your template index.php just change the lines

Code: [Select]
<div class="subcontent-unit-border">or
Code: [Select]
<div class="subcontent-unit-border-blue">
to the class with the correct color. (-blue -green -orange) The first one without color in the name is grey.

I'm not sure what you mean.

With "the code" you mean the editor where the text is entered?
And you want to see your full website again?

On the top of the Administration site menu there is a link called "view". Click it and you will see your site in a new window.

No - I know how to see the Live site -

But I can't update it anymore as this is what I see when I go into the 'pages' option :-

<p><font size="2"><font color="#000099"><strong>Cool Blue</strong></font><br />People with a preference for Cool Blue energy are introverted and have a desire to know and understand the world around them.  They prefer written communication in order to maintain clarity and precision, radiating a desire for analysis.  </font></p><p><

INSTEAD OF THE TEXTbelow  - which I can update easily - any ideas????
Cool Blue

Looks like you are not using a WYSIWYG editor.

If the FCKeditor is not installed, consider installing that one.
(See http://addons.WebsiteBaker.org/pages/modules/wysiwyg-editors.php (http://addons.WebsiteBaker.org/pages/modules/wysiwyg-editors.php))

As you can read on the addons pages:

The HTMLArea editor is old, and no longer supported by its developers.
This means, if there are any security issues, they will not be addressed.
Also not all browsers are supported.

This is the reason that in WB2.7 FCKeditor is the default editor.

My site was hacked!! and taken down, any ideas on how tp prevent that?/

I havn't been able to get it workign properly again since, as apparently the back files were a little wonky so ADD-onns like gocard and picture gallery arn't working adn I can uninstall or install them now.

Also, since I've got that problem not being able to see the text again in the pages view, I tried to load the FCK editor like you mentioned- I downloaded the files from teh FCK site ok, then extracte dthem BUT when I go to ADD-ons, install, abd browse the file, I'm not sure which file to sllect there wasn't an .exe file, any ideas?? - I got the follwoing error message when I tried?/

Thanks

You can only install modules wich are written for WB. Download a package from FCK page will never work. You find all modules for WB on our addons page. Simply download the zip package, let the package untouched and install this zip package via WB admin - Add-ons.

Do you know how the site was hacked?

If you don't know that it will be difficult to give any tips on preventing future problems.

Thanks guys for your input.  It's an ongoign learning experience.

I got FCK Editor installed BUT then when I viewed my website in teh pages mode all the text font was diffrernt and all over the place. So I changed it back to HTMLview. I guess you need  to design the entire site from scratch in the new editor or is there a way to translate from HTML to FCK?.

Not sure HOW my site was hacked?? that's the scary part. We have changed all passwords and crossing fingers!

Ever heard of the Hacker proof stuff, does it work???

ALSO - another wierd problem I'm having is that on my Laptop, I can only see the Pages in the code mode, even though HTML view is selected.

It's ok on my main pC.

Basically I donot see the full text editor in the window all the editing options are gone so  I cannot toggle between code view and text view I am stuck in code.

Any ideas ??, is it something to do with Add-ons??

The FCK editor uses a stylesheet called "editor.css" in your template folder. try to rename that one in some other name (i.e. editor.not) and try again. It will look different than what you see on the live page's (that one uses another CSS stylesheet), but it will probably look better.

I would think it has something to do with browser settings. Maybe javascript is disabled on your laptop?
Maybe clearing the browser cache helps.
I have seen the problem on this forum before, but couldn't find one thread with a solution other than "suddenly it started working again". (what looks like a browser caching issue)
