Title: easy conversion
Post by: bowenmark on April 03, 2005, 09:15:30 AM
I wanted to see how long it would take to convert an existing site that uses a few php includes for the header and footer and a couple other things and the basics are there. It probably won't validate xhtml strict because of the target attributes in the hrefs from the cms, but will change that

A few hours worth:

http://www.mgwebservices.ca/

The pages showing in the menu have been converted, some internal links not yet.

Well done!
Say, are your (grand)parents Dutch perhaps? Groen is a Dutch sounding name :-)

Yup, it should have an umlaut above the 'o'. Dad was from Amsterdam, came to Canada in the 50's after the war and he headed west. I kept on going and am on little island out in the Pacific between the "big island" of Vancouver Island and the continent.

Nice to hear :-) I have been in Vancouver once, for 1 day, waiting for a next flight to LA, USA. Great city, beautiful land. I would love to go to Canada on a vacation sometime in the future.

By the way, an O with an umlaut is not Dutch at all :-) It's German, but if your dad's from Amsterdam, I don't think the name should have an umlaut. Anyway, never mind... :-)
