Title: activation doesn´t work?!?!?
Post by: joerg_w on February 12, 2007, 11:01:30 AM
 :?

Hello,

i recently stumbled over wb, and I really do enjoy it.
To partake in this community I registered to this forum. Still, no activation mail has reached me. I even requested the activation to be sent to another mail-adress of mine... :-(  but nothing.

So I´d like to ask you, wether the activation function of this forum works properly or not, or perhaps  there might be another way to get a registered user here, what I´m really looking forward to...

thx in advance
Jörg (registered as joergw)

Hello,

there seems indeed a problem with the activation Mail. Tested it a few days back and the activation mail reached me after three days. Posted this already to Ryan, hope i could solve this.

Hi Matthias,
indeed there is something not ok with the emails.
A runtime of 14 hours for a "watch topic notification"!
Ok, Australia is a little bit far away from Germany ... but sooooo far ...

greets Bernd

Hello,

tested the register via email option. The email was correctly send out, but indicated as SPAM (Unknown). Therefore the registration mail wasn´t catched by TheBat! (mail programm I use to check all my mail accounts) as the mail sticked in the SPAM folder. After releasing the regestration mail from the SPAM folder, everything works fine.

Have used the SMTP option coming along with WB 2.6.5. As default sender address, the SERVER_EMAIL is used. From my experience, it is important to set this SERVER_EMAIL adress to something like: wbmailer@yourdomain.com (doesn´t matter if mail address exists). If you using something like myName@gmx.de  and your registration mail address is hisName@gmx.de, the mail will not be delivered, as GMX checks the sender relay.

Regards Christian

@doc

not the WB registration makes the problem, if you add a new account here to this forum, the needed activation mail arrives you in 2/3 days.
