Title: School Website
Post by: ajsingh on July 06, 2006, 01:03:36 PM
Firstly, I would like to congratulate everyone responsible fo creating WebsiteBaker. It is the most amazing and easy to use content management software I have ever come across. I had once started to make my own simple content management software, in PERL, but WebsiteBaker just blows it off. It has everything I wanted for my various sites, and the modules keep coming. Installation was a breeze as well!

I decided to use it for my school site. I was made incharge to make a website for my school. Here is what I have come up with -> www.ipskuwait.com (http://www.ipskuwait.com). The template is made from scratch, and there are flaws in it. The site itself is not complete, and I will be handing the controls over to soem other people who will be responsible for the content. The site was previously in HTML static pages.

Your comments will be appreciated and valued.

I will be using it for most (if not all) of my sites in the future.

Thank you once again for creating such a wonderful piece of software.

hey Ayman, it's a nice start ... but I would reduce a bit on the colors ... to many different ones and they don't really fit together ...

You might want to give it an overall more "light" feel and not the dark and heavy blue ... leaave the logo, but get rid of the background and the side navigation bar colors ... and add a bit more margin to that one while you are at it ...

The site in general loads quite slow, you will need to optimise it a bit ... definatly too many images to load (even if they are small ...). If you take white as a background color, you can get rid already of a lot of the spacers gifs.  keep working on it, but reduce the amount of data to be sent over. In this case "less is more".

cheers
