Title: Improved module: 404 (redirects)
Post by: Ruud on July 06, 2017, 04:29:18 PM
The 404 module is improved.

It will log all bad page requests (including the ones that were redirected) and let you browse trough that log.

It is also possible to have all bad requests emailed to your mailbox. That way you can act quickly to configure the correct redirect of old links to the correct page and prevent any search engine penalties!

Will test some days. Good features.  (Y)
Have used until now the 404 droplet from phpmanufaktur for emailreporting.

The (my) german translation is partly unlucky.  :-D

Great module again, Ruud! Do you plan to implement the additional functions into the Short.php-module as well? Or can we use both modules where 404 will take over Short's handling of the errorpage?

Yes, that is the idea..

In short.php (older versions used wb.php) you define the 404 page you are using (in the short format).
That page should have this module included (plus a wysiwyg section for a nice message to the visitor if no redirect is found).

See the "Help" link for instructions:

Thanks Ruud, I should have tried that before asking :-)
