Title: re-unite
Post by: niekfox on August 08, 2014, 11:43:28 AM
Is there a change to re-unite the people of WB with the people of Lepton ?

It seems to me that both are walking slowly in a dead-end street .

The add-ons project as example is mixed up with things that aren’t working anymore, or just working in one of those 2.
Many user love to work with this CMS, unfortunately I see some of theme change to other CMS-systems at this time.

Is there a future for WB/LEPTON ?

I’m running both on different website’s,  but with struggling.  The editor of WB isn’t compatible anymore with all browsers. Some great addons don’t work in Lepton etc.

I don’t want to hurt people with this question, I know that some of them are struggling with health.
I hope they get well soon.

Me my self I’m just an amateur and make simple websites for non-profit organisations /  associations and because it’s easy way of working with I use WB/LEPTON.

It would by a pity if this project stops or people are leaving to another CMS.

Hello Niekfox.

There is for sure a future for WebsiteBaker CMS and currently a SP2 (service pack with patches) for version 2.8.3. is on its way and also the Version 2.8.4. is in the making.

You should reconsider your use of both platforms (WB and Lepton) and stick with one of them, as the compatibility inconsistencies will drift apart even further as the time passes on.

As I don't know Lepton or any other WB Forks really (never used any of them), I of course suggest to stick with WebsiteBaker CMS.

There are also, of course, tons of other CMSes, but if you really want to have the simplicity of WebsiteBaker, there is no reason to discard this system at this time.

Kind regards,
Stefek

I will stick to WB, at this time.   Hope you're right about this.

Unquestionable there's a future for WB (LEPTON/BLACKCAT/...).
The real question is: What future is there for WB? Some people like the progress of WB, they are active or quiet (btw. most of them are).
Some don't like the progress, so they left WB (LEPTON/BLACKCAT/...), quit or retired (like me).

Would be great to see WB progress on and on. I think WB needs more people to contribute not only with the development of the CMS but modules & templates.

I am planning on offering more templates and more time to helping others out where I can, I understand people work and may not have time would be a shame for such a great, simple, powerful cms like WB to be dead in the water. In my personal opinion WB is one of the easiest content management systems to use and work with even people with no knowledge of websites etc can update their website with ease.

ROCK ON WB  :-D
