Title: Open Online Community Meeting April 25, 19:00
Post by: kweitzel on April 20, 2012, 12:10:48 PM
Open invitation for all WebsiteBaker community members.

The WebsiteBaker organization is working hard to find the best way to improve the communication between the WebsiteBaker users and the developers.

Until now, the way to reach the developers or other members was just by using the public forum threads. Although this is a great way to communicate for an world-wide community we thought it might be good to make use some of the technology available today to improve this.

We would like to invite all community members to join our first Open Online Community Meeting. In this meeting we want to give everyone the possibility to talk with the developers and members of the organization directly to discuss the current status of our great CMS system and brainstorm about the future. Note that you do not need to be technical skilled. Any question about WebsiteBaker is welcome.

If this meeting proves to be a success, we will schedule these meetings bi-monthly and we will do our best to improve the conference system and use features like screencasts, webcams and stuff like that on a webbased platform.

Our first Open Online Community Meeting is scheduled on Wednesday April 25, at 19.00 until 21:00 (CET) using Skype. To join, add the Skype username "WebsiteBaker.org" to your Skype contact list and request to connect (prior to the meeting). If you are visible online at the start of the meeting you will be invited (once) to join the conference call. If you missed the invitation and still want to join, send a short text message to "WebsiteBaker.org" with the request to be added to the conference.

Tip:
If you do not want your "private" Skype address to be seen by others, just create a new temporary Skype account to be used for these meetings. Please use your forum name as much as possible.

The meeting will be held in the English language. If needed there will be people available to translate any possible misunderstandings to German or Dutch. Please note: the meeting will be moderated strictly. We really want the meeting to be constructive and will not tolerate inappropriate or offensive language.

Finally, If you are planning to participate in this unique event, please post a short message in this tread telling us and the community you are joining.

cheers

Dietmar, Ruud & Klaus

Can somebody take notes to highlight the discussion?

Asking the question is answering it :-)

But seriously.., No, we want a light-weight conversation.
This should not be a decision making event. We want to listen to the community, and if possible answer questions that may be out there. Maybe brainstorm a bit about how things could be improved.

There is no agenda. No official stuff to make decisions about.
If it was technically possible we would serve drinks too.
We just hope this meeting will improve the relation between all people involved in this community.
