Title: new BRAMUS (webhoster) website
Post by: Bramus on June 16, 2011, 08:14:15 PM
I'm working on a new website. Some minor changes have to be done (prices for packages). A new site with the following modules:

- Custom server checker (add a server (IP) and check on a port, then show status on the left side)
- Custom made Portfolio page (like to hear comments about this one)
- Custom order form, parameters from domaincheck and hosting package
- jQuery tools for the FAQ, rotating image in top and the order form (hide / show)

Like to hear some comments on this one. Site is in progress so things have to be updated!

status page nice!

portfolio, looks nice as well, professional!
though I would change this sentence:
Het Design, de Ontwikkeling of beide zijn door BRAMUS Internet Services uitgevoerd.
to
Het Design of de Ontwikkeling of beiden zijn door BRAMUS Internet Services uitgevoerd.
Maybe add a link to that site from within the picture or something, gives them and you better google ratings ;)
Don't forget to check periodicly if they are still the same, designwise.

Overall good looking, one minor thing wich is a matter of taste, the whitebackground under the submenues when hoovering over the menu, maybe a lighter grey would be better? For me it looks like it is not a part of your desgin.

John,

Thanks for the information! About the link, i know, but all the sites are developed in a CMS so they can edit a lot them self and to show a messed up page... Thats why already the click with bigger image. In the bottom are some other sites with links.

About the menu, hmm will look into that. I also noticed a small bug in the 2nd subitem. a small glitch.

I tried to click four items at the rightside of the banner, that did not work, maybe you can make links there...

I think it is pretty annoying to customers /visitors to not give a real link to the website itself, now people have to google for the website to see the website from your portfolio. If you really think your customers are fukkin up your sites sonbad you do not want other customers to see them you should either give em less rights or educate em better. I guess future customers want to see what you can mean to them from the real stuff, not from a 300px image. Them again, i guess you know what you are doing and what your visitors / customers expect, need and want so maybe this Works better for you.

Edit: I forgot to say i like layout a lot!

@Bug, yes i was thinking about the links, so i think i will implement this.

About educating, a wysiwyg editor can change colors and fonts, when you tell them use Head1 and head2 they understand it, but after a few months they dont know this anymore and then just change the colors and size etc.

But i will think about it and maybe change it. Thanks for the tips

A slight suggestion in order to maintain a good looking website:

Open the modify.php from the wysiwyg module and search for the editor field,

Underneath the editor field you add some lines of text regarding the most important do's and don'ts,
This way they always got a minimanual close at hand.

That would indeed be an option. I will think about it for customers.

I also changed the text next to the header so they appear as hyperlinks.

i delete thoose functions in the wysiwyg anytimes! There are only given styles to choose!!
working with CKEeditor and the Templates and Inline Style system + normal HTML Elements....nothing more!

so all is quiet clean everywhere......;)

Thanks :)
