Title: Happy 5th birthday, WebsiteBaker!
Post by: Waldschwein on December 09, 2009, 09:30:14 AM
Hello,

I just want to say: Happy 5th birthday! I know there's no exact date when WebsiteBaker was published, but I decided for myself the December, 14th 2004 is the release date due to the stable release of the first "working" version 2.2.0- and on 10th December there was developement freeze of 2.2.0.

It's quite cool to see what WebsiteBaker got. Many press releases, under the Top5 CMS in quite all user-based rankings like here http://php.opensourcecms.com/general/ratings.php, several 100.000 installations, about 5000 Downloads / Months, several community sites...

Quite a cool thing, what became of a CMS developed for creating a school site.

And I'm keen on seeing all the new things that are in development and are thought about!

Yours Michael

Great to hear!!

Before WB we worked with CMSMS but man...what a liberation when we re-discovered WB. We discovered WB back in 2006 but our servers were all on safe_mode=ON (and weren't able to change that back then) so after trying to install we went back to CMSMS.

For over 2 years we now use WB to the fullest and already delivered dozens of websites.

I think WB has still a long way to go with some things (e.g. search function) but the way WB works, handles and the easyness of creating custom templates with WB as backend is just mindblowing simple and gives enjoy working!

Last but not least: the forums! One of the reasons that we love WB is the back-up support of you all users. Everybody is willing to help each other out and that's a cool thing.

A big thnQ to all those who made WB to what it is right now!

Boudi

Yes WebsiteBaker is the best one in the hell's kitchen.

Before i found him, i look at many others. Unfortunately has no one of them the same easy way to start and publish things in minutes. Accept X-mentor (if someone know this old thing).
