Title: Upload a new template
Post by: ivanisevic82 on October 03, 2009, 12:23:55 PM
Hi boys!

Sorry for my english!

I've a new template that I designed and I'd like to share it with you in the repository.
I sent it to the moderator, as I read in the forum, but I did not have answer.

So, can I post the template here???
Can you verify if all is correct to put it in the repository?

Thank you!

Hi,

simply post your template here and ask to review it. Before you do so, check if your template sticks to the template guidelines (http://addons.WebsiteBaker.org/media/template_guidelines.pdf), which is prerequisite to get your template listed on the WB Template showcase.

Ok, thank you doc!

You can see a thumbnail of the template here:

http://www.ivanisevic82.com/pages/glass/prova1.php

I think that it respect the rules of the guidelines...you can verify please.

The only reason cause I'm waiting for upload the final version is that I have a little problem with IE6: if you try to open it with that browser, there is a little part of the right column cutted.

Can you help me to resolve this problem?

PS Do not consider the other page of the site becouse I use it only for make try for the moment...

Sorry for my english!

Bye!

Hi,

check your template for HTML (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ivanisevic82.com%2Fpages%2Fglass%2Fprova1.php) and CSS (http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?profile=css2&warning=2&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ivanisevic82.com%2Fpages%2Fglass%2Fprova1.php) related errors.

If you have problems with IE6, try to check your page with http://spoon.net/browsers/. If you found the bug (most likely CSS box bug), simply add some IE 6 related markup to your template index.php (or CSS) to fix it:

Code: [Select]
<!--[if IE 6]>
IE6 stuff here.
<![endif]-->

Uhm...I correct all errors, now the validation is ok!

But the problem with IE6 is the same...

:(

Hi know the solution of the conditional comments, but in this case I don't know how to change it!

Hi,

maybe simply upload your template to this thread and aks if anybody could test it with IE 6. Maybe someone can provide a CSS hack for your problem.

The template is good, but I have no access to MS Browsers at the moment ... usually the issue lies within the boymodel of CSS and the MS interpretation.

Maybe that link here helps a bit ...

I can look over that template, but only if I know that it be uploaded to the repository afterwards.

I never uploaded a template and I don't know all the criteria and also do not know WHO approves the Templates before they're uploaded.

I have also some Templates here to upload them in near future.
I only need to know what is the exact route for them to be approved.

Regards,
Stefek

We currently do not yet have the manpower in place for the continuous management of the add-on repository, but since we are getting more and more people interested, also in helping out, it will change in the near future.

cheers

OK.

Maybe it is a good idea to provide a checklist somewehre. So designers know all the required criteria and can complete their work themself.
For the approvement the WHO will need to check the template against the same checklist and there it is.

Meant as a suggestion for the future ;-)

Stefek

Alrighty then.

I wanna trade the removal of your name in the footer for this fix :P

Maybe it's an ugly fix and maybe it's not. I'n not a coder but i like puzzles. Therefore i the cut of chunk.

Take a look at this css file ivanisevic82 and please check if the "fix" has to be applied to other parts of the css file.

Kind regards.

Michel

p.s. rename the screen.txt to screen.css (i cannot upload css files)

Thank you Remy, but I cannot accept your trade.
I chose for this license becouse I want my name in the footer.
I try the modify you have done, but it doesn't resolve the problem I need to fix. :(

Nah the trade was just a joke.

But strange..

I don't have IE6 on my pc so i had to use a online emulator, that one showed the website correctly after this trick.

Sorry i couldn't help you with the problem.

Greetz,

Michel

Hello,

I tested "the fix" on IE 5,5 - 6 - 7 - 8 and the only version that has problems with it is 5,5. (i tested it in IETester0

Strange that it will not work for you. If i understand correctly the problem was that IE 6 chopped the flag.jpg on the left side of the flag right ? otherwise i misunderstood the problem.

Kind regards,

Michel
