Title: WB Leadership changes
Post by: ruebenwurzel on August 19, 2009, 08:55:41 PM
Dear community,

since the first hours of WB i was active in the WB community. Starting from a little bit helping here in the forum till now as WB 2.8 is released. I see WB growing and growing, especially in the german part here. Unfortunately no one really did lead this whole project and as I'm the one wich is one of the longest active parts here i got this position without anyone asked me if i wanna do this.

I'm proud that WB is growing under my "Leadership" to the point where it is now. But to get WB to another, higher level it is now necessary that the leadership is not done from one person it must be done from a bigger group of active members. Based on an idea from BerndJM and me two years ago we have built a organisation wich will do this job in the future.

Releasing the WB 2.8 version of WB was my last activity as "leader". I now will retire from all position and hand over the whole leadership to this new organsiation. They will introduce themselve in own posts. I'm part of this organsiation and will stay only as leader of this forum, wich basically means maintainin the software and moderation. All other sections will taken over from other organsiation members.

I will say thank you to all of the community members wich helped me making WB 2.8 possible. Special thanks i will say to Christian (doc) for all what he has done for WB 2.7 and for the communication between us. And also i will special say thank you to Klaus (kweitzel) wich was the first community member i had contact with in real life.

WB is since about 5 years a big part of my life wich i never wanna miss and wich will also be a part of my common life. But due to time lacks i cannot spend the time wich is necessary to bring WB to the point where it must be. So o hand over the leadership to a organsation wich is built from the active members here in the forum is the step to the right direction.

Thanks for all and apology to all those I may have incorrectly treated

Matthias

Dear all,

personally I would like to thank Mattias and DOC as well for the ongoing support of WebsiteBaker over the last years.

I was asked by the WebsiteBaker org association to post the following in reply to your posts:

Hi There,

first of all I would like to thank Matthias, Doc and Klaus for keeping this project alive since last year.

With the announcement of Ryan to retire completely from this project it was not that clear that WebsiteBaker Project could be kept alive. After some discussions we came to the result that the project needs a long lasting solution that has to be nearly independent from single persons if we all want to grant a future to this project. So we crowded the active members together and picked up an old idea as Mathias said: we founded the WebsiteBaker Org e.V.

This association is a democratic, non-profit and registered organisation according to German law with a status of "common interest", that means it has a charitable character and donations and membership fees can be used to reduce your personal taxes. And though all power was needed to release 2.8 we started working on the organisation and structure of the project some weeks ago to get some things started. And as we all know there is a lot of work to be done because of a missing structure of this project over the last years (as Ryan stated in his thread).

One important item is to get those people involved that volunteered for this project over the last months, but our intention is to get the right persons ont the right positions, and for that reason it will take some time to contact all volunteers, but as i said before, we got some things started. We are sure that the idea and work of this association will grant WebsiteBaker CMS a long lasting future and we hope that the community shares our intention and will support our work. Thanks to all who made this possible.

erpe - in the name of the association
