Title: News Box
Post by: orko3001 on April 27, 2009, 06:19:24 PM
Hi all, I have looked for this on the forum but have not seen this. I may have missed it. I want to have the news from the news module displayed in boxes on the right of my home page.

Could anyone tell me how to do this please? I have some php css experience but could do with advice.

Thankyou for your help.

Search for the module/snippet "any items" ("display news items anywhere").

Hi Stefek,
That whole AnyNews module.
To shorten a long story...
With AnyNews it is possible to create areas where you can show a title and a part of it's content, everywhere on the layout?
And is it also possible to create headlines with it? With headlines i mean, only clickable titles of a certain news group or page?
Because i've tried AnyNews, but i can't figure out yet how it's actually working.
Is it also possible to show only titles with anynews of, for example the Event Calendar?
Because i want to have a box with headlines, only from the Event Calendar.
I do have read the anyNews page where is also an example is given of it's usage, but i cannot quite understand the way it works.
Where do i have to place the anynews <?php code? In the template area in WB or in the source of the actual template/theme of my layout?
For people who had worked with anyNews before, i think it's a bit more understandable to use it, even when there are new feautures added to it. But for totally newbies, i thinkit's a bit confusing where to start and where to put the code in.

*And i think my message doesn't belong in this topic anymore.
It wasn't my purpose to make my message this long :) sorry bout that.

gr
Dave

// Oh crap, and you prefered Any Items... i read in the first place anyNews... again sorry.
Whats the main differences of "any items" and "anyNews"?

Hello,

Heheh, that's ok.
I haven't worked with Bakery yet, but will in a sort period of time as i have requests often for webshops.
Do you know if there is any development of an iDeal payment function for Bakery?
The FreeWebShop, wich is an unfinished module for WB also, does have an iDeal function (it's original webshop)
Are there any plans or even maybe allready started for iDeal?
iDeal is for the Dutch citizens the most... no, it's the only secure payment option, in direct connection with the Banks transitions. As you've worked too much ;) with Bakery, you might know such information.

// By the way Orko... This is a very, very offtopic reply and has totally nothing to do with your question. Sorry :)

Hello D.
All I know is, that the developer of this module, freeSbee, plans a enhanced payment gateway integration.
I don't know if he will integrate iDeal, but I think that it will be much easier to integrate as this is in the current version.

I you want to know more about Bakery you should post in the appropriate thread ;-)

Stefek
