Hello,

nice site. Did you use one of the wb templates or is this built from you?

hi matthias  :-D

i build this template  on gaston's site by myself with html and css-style. it was my first experience with WebsiteBaker - it is absolutely easy to use. when it is all finished i would like to write here in the forum about my detail experience and about the results i found for some small problems. maybe it is usefull for other website-bakers

Hello,

sounds good, are you willing to share the template to the community?

It's cool to have a "sort of Celebrity" using WB :-D I think Gaston is featured in every TV Programm about the Modelrailway of Hamburg ... would be great to be included in the bookmarks.

One little hint, in the gallery clicking on the large picture to see the x-tra large one it openes in the same window. With a little update in the file view(.)php of the gallery you can change this to a popup ... I think it would look better.

cheers

hi matthias  :-D

of course i will share my template with example code here. of course, to use a popup for the large pictures are a great idea - thx  :-)

for the future i would like to offer webspace on one of our server particularly for using with WebsiteBaker. there are tons of problems for the most website-bakers on several vservers and webspaces for the reason that php-rules are too limited - i will fix it on the server for easy work with WebsiteBaker

we are using dedicated servers with dual opterons in newest versions with minimum 4gb working ram, linux os and a plesk 8.0 user-interface. traffic are without any limit.

it should be a server who are also supports any help and teamwork between the bakers. it will be good to offer webspace for a small price on commercial use by small beginner companys and for free on non-profit use like social unites, citizens' initiatives - without commercial banners of course.

maybe it is possible to organize something like this trough a group of engaged baker-helpers (building a unite ?) - particularly to make decisions for using webspace free without any costs.

if you or other bakers got any idea for something like this it would be nice to hear about it  :-)

greets to everyone everywhere

Don't worry about addressing the wrong person ... you can always edit your own post an correct the issue. Also your english ... no need to apologise, at least you use it :-D

You should have known my English before I was 5 years in Scotland ...

With this community thisg I would be careful, it can fail quite drastically. We are also aiming here to improve the service for the different languages.

cheers

hi there  :-D

i think about the picture gallery and find a way to open the gallery complete in a new window only with the actually page content = thumbnails

after the thumbnails open in a new window, the clickable thumbnails will open now the great original size picture in the same window. then it is possible to jump back to the thumbnails or to leave gallery complete back to the homepage.

to go back or forward with the original size pictures are disabled cause the customer do not want it - of course it works also if it is enabled

it works without any javascript (open in a new window with actually page content = thumbnails and without the other content who are fixed inside ../template/mytemplate/index.php) and also without any javascript to show original size picture in the same window

this gallery based on gallery_v1.7

upload picture inside admin-backend on the original way as known with gallery_v1.7

greets,
nipumuck

[edit] Ahh ... I just saw, you did it already ... :-) [/edit]

If you want the gallery to open in a new window (although I wouldn't do that) just open the page settings and choose "New Window" as "target". That's all you need to do ...

But like I said, I would just open the "big view" of the pictures in a pop-up

cheers
