Post by: Lotus on November 21, 2008, 10:01:22 AM
A reworked theme for a US car sales company in sweden:

http://swedencustomcars.se

Background: Larger content area and relocated submenues and banners. Better typography, theme code, look and feel.

The typography is not changed on all pages so right now

Nice ... but if you define a body height of at least 100.1% you will avoid the page shifting to the left when a longer page is displayed ...

cheers

Hello kweitzel, thanx for your comments. I sent you a PM about it because I dont really understand what you mean.

Does the site shift to the left when showing a longer page?
What browser and OS do you use?
How does the height declaration work when using it in the bodytag?

I have a large Screen with a 1600x1200 resolution. On the Startpage the content is not as long as my screen, so there is no scrolbar at the right. On a page further down the structure there is content which is longer. That creates a scrollbar and with that the page jumps to the left.

if you set a pageheight of more than 100% the scrollbar will be shown in any case, which avoids the jumping of content to the left.

cheers

Klaus

Ah, ok i thought the whole page just started to float left instead of centering  :-D
As i dont really mind the small jump to the left when the scroll shows, I implemented the code anyway. Seems to affect IE but not FF but that is ok, but I agree it is nicer without small jumps to the left. Thanx for explaining.
