Title: New, made mit RC2.7 - Tents for rent
Post by: chio on February 27, 2008, 12:18:51 PM
Yep, I dared (Why wait), but I made a simple caching solution (save the whole pages as static pages when a page is modified). If there are more often changes or any "dynamic" module is needed, I can simply exchange the folders (WB/static), without loosing the URLs.

Don't  really understand your point (I don't see why one wold like to keep static pages if they could also ber dynamic...) but the site looks nice. It even validates.

Vincent

There are two reasons for the caching:

1.) Its a security net: The client is afraid, he could do anything bad while editing and destroy the page. Now he has a button "Publish this". He can do anything - as long as he doesnt publish it.
2.) The site changes once or twice a year. I could have made a static page, but I wanted that the client can change something, e.g. while I am on holydays.

Thanks a lot - the margin-problem ist fixed.

The caching is not so easy - I dont use a module - its only a tiny script. This simple caching doesnt work with any "interactive" content - e.g. a guestbook or even the Form-Module. (This form is "handmade" with the Code module)
