Template Help

stensonb:
So, I just completed my new 2.6.7 install on linux, and have made all files/folders world readable/writable for testing.  I'm trying out different templates.  I select the template I'd like to see on the Settings page, click Save, and then click View.

The template doesn't change.

I've tried this on the OpenSourceCMS.com demo page and the template doesn't change there either...

So...what am I missing?

Thanks.

Hello,

there are two places in WB where you can change templates:

1.) in the WB settings: The templatre wich is defined there is displayed on all pages where the template is set to default.
2.) on the pages settings: You can give every page a own template. this overwrites the default template from settings.

So if you have set the template on settings of the pages a change of the template in the settings of WB does have any effect.

Thanks for the help.  Changing the template for each page works!

I'm not sure changing the page for the entire site works....if I put the page on 'System Default', it should use the template from the site setting, right?

It doesn't.  If I have the page set on 'System Default' and change the site setting to something like 'Artificial Intelligence', I end up with the standard "WebsiteBaker" template....if I change the page template to 'Artificial Intelligence', that page will work correctly...

any thoughts?

Hello,

clean your browser chache!

Doesn't do it.

Additionally, if I change the template in the "page" section, the VERY NEXT TIME I update reload the browser page the template is being used...

Perhaps the host machine is caching the "current" default template...anybody run up against this?

Thanks for the help so far!
