Upgrade from 2.12.1 to 2.12.2 r379 deleted all modules and templates

Hi everyone,

first off, as always, thanks to everyone for keeping WB supported and updated! You're doing a great job!

Today I tried to update my website from WB 2.12.1 to the most recent 2.12.2 r379 on a XAMPP-installation and I had a tough time finding out why after updating nothing showed - I got a blank screen.
Then I realized that the update deleted all but the stock-templates/themes. All my templates were gone. After I reinstalled those, I got a lot of error-messages and found out that also, all the modules got deleted, except the stock-modules.

Is this intentional?
The upgrade-script has an option "Force Addons Upgrade (if not checked, upgrade only newer ones)" that I left unchecked – but to me this doesn't say anything about deleting your existing addons … let alone templates.

As you can imagine, I'd like to find out what I have to restore before updating my real website now.
Any information on this is highly appreciated.

Das ist nicht gut und auch nicht so vorgesehen.
Das upgrade-script löscht weder Templates noch ihrdenwelche Module. Bei unsere Testupdates von allen Vorgängerversion (2.8.3 bis 2.12.1)  wurde nie auch nur ein Template oder ein Modul gelöscht, einzige Ausnahme bildet da BAckend Theme, da dieses immer an den neuen Core angepasst wird.

Kannst du uns sagen wie du beim upgrade vorgegangen bis Schritt für Schritt?

Ich habe gerade alle Schritte genau so nachvollzogen wie vorgestern – und bin über meine eigene Blödheit zutiefst beschämt.

Beim Kopieren der Upgrade-Dateien in den bestehenden Ordner, hat mein File Explorer statt die beiden Ordner zusammenzuführen, diese lediglich ersetzt, was zur Folge hatte, dass alle Ordner, die bereits existierten, durch die des Upgrade-Pakets ersetzt wurden, ohne zusätzliche Unterordner oder Dateien zu erhalten.

Meine Schuld, sorry!
Ist mir in 20 Jahren nun auch noch nie passiert.

Aber: Ich bekomme nach wie vor beim ersten Durchlauf des Upgrade-Scripts eine Fehlermeldung:

Exception: "Methode write::Unable to write file ["pages/posts/news-file.php"]" >> Exception detected in: [/framework/AccessFile.php]

Beim zweiten Versuch klappt es dann. Ich denke aber, dass das auf dem richtigen Server keine Rolle spielen sollte.

Nochmal Entschuldigung, dass ich hier die Pferde scheu gemacht habe – mein Fehler. Ich geb mir Mühe, dass es nicht wieder vorkommt.

Keine Sorge. Da das in zig Tests nicht ein einziges Mal vorgekommen ist, war hier niemand beunruhigt.
Wir wußten das Problem sitzt vor dem Rechner. *kappa*

Mit der Exception wirst du recht haben, auf einem richtigen Server passiert das nicht.
