How can I show the currency symbol in the frontend to replace currency code?

What I need is the explenation of how to replace the USD to $ in Bakery.
It can be other currency as well.
I read a post that it should be done in the language file, but I need a detailed explenation.

Change the language files.. That seems pretty clear doesn't it..

Bakery/languages/chinese.php ...

*open*

fing: ping

Change *ping* into *pong*

*save*

*upload*

*refresh*

Note that changing the currency will make the payment plugins to fail.

The currencies as they are used now are the official currencies that need to be used in communication with the "paypal's" in this world.
